For the treatment of limb lengthening men and women, adults and children are accepted.

Initial evaluation can be done via email. But later we will need to see you at clinic, shortly after the evaluation surgery can be done. We may get X-rays of your legs at the time of this visit into clinic. Ladisten surgeons will examine you, and will discuss limb lengthening together with you. In some cases you may be assigned to a psychologist to examine your state and provide the guidance to you before being accepted as a candidate for cosmetic limb lengthening.
The mental health, psychological stability is needed to take the surgery, as height increase requires patience, understanding that there will be some suffering. Your cooperation and positive attitude to get better results are also expected.

Phases of Limb Lengthening Treatment
The stages of limb lengthening mainly go in this order:

Limb lengthening is achieved via Ilizarov's approach in mind. After micro-surgery Ilizarov-Veklich external device is applied for limb lengthening period.
You may expect to stay in the Ladisten hospital for all the period after surgery. You begin daily physical therapy as an outpatient. During lengthening, you will not be able to walk, staying in a wheelchair and will not be allowed weight bearing (only for transferring from chair to bed or bed to chair). Although each case is unique, the rate of lengthening set to be 1 mm/day or 3 cm/month.
Even after the lengthening is completed, you cannot bear weight right away. You will have to wait until the X-rays show that the bone is sufficiently healed to permit full weight bearing. This usually takes one or two months after the lengthening stops but can take longer in some cases. If the bone does not heal, bone grafting will be required, but this is not common.
And although the Ilizarov-Veklich device and operation itself is the less-risky and less intrusive than other methods of limb lengthening, complications are still possible.

The majority of our patients achieve excellent results without significant complications. To date, all our patients who have undergone cosmetic stature lengthening have been able to return to normal function, including sports activities, within one or two years after the lengthening.
