Description of the disease

Straight legs are the dream of every girl and the standard for men. Unfortunately, nature doesn’t give beauty to everyone; splay knees are a quite common defect. PREPARATION

Carrying out of surgical operation

The pathology of bow legs (varus deformity) is corrected in the clinic in 30-40 minutes for both legs. During the operation spinal anesthesia is used, so that the patient wakes up immediately after the operation is completed.

Step one. Making an appointment to get a consultation. This can be done by phone or by filling out an online form.
Step two. X-ray study and additional examinations. Diagnosis according to the results.
Step three. Surgical operation: small incisions are made in the leg and then the tibia is incised. The bone is put in the correct position which makes the legs straight. To fix this position, Veklich functional device is used.
Step four. The first days after surgery. This is the period when correction of the legs is taking place. During the next week the device is adjusted and the legs are straightened with an accuracy of 1 degree. At this time, the patient can move with the help of crutches or walkers.
Step five. Fixation and rehabilitation. Within 3 weeks after surgery, the patient walks on his own, with the device taking a stable position. Crutches are no longer needed.
Step six. After 2,5-3 months, the bones are completely grown together. Varus deformity (the pathology of bow legs) disappears.

REHABILITATION

The time needed to remove the Veklich device is 3 minutes. Three months after the operation, the patient can return to his or her former life and physical activity.

The patient is in the clinic for 12 days, then goes through rehabilitation at home. In the future, after 3 months, another short visit to the clinic will be required to remove the devices.

The aesthetic effect remains for life. The size of traces left after wearing the Veklich device usually doesn’t exceed two millimeters, so it is difficult to see them with the naked eye. The absence of long-term rehabilitation and cosmetic defects is the main advantage of treatment according to Veklich method.
